No Thank You, Mr. Ma!

Mr. Ma is the most pretentious of all presidents across the world. It is very clear that he has no interest in Taiwan's sovereignty, as he has shown throughout the preparations for the World Games that he showed no interest in until he decided to attend the Games two days before the opening ceremony. Sovereignty is what we could find in the opening ceremony of the World Games through its amazing performances that all related to Taiwan's local culture.

Due to the government's shameless cut in the budget for the World Games, students and local dancers were hired to perform at the opening ceremony with all their heart and with utmost success. The various Taiwanese teams in the World Games also received little or no support from the government, but have performed amazingly, even receiving gold medals.

Yet after Mr. Ma decided to finally appear at the World Games just two days before the opening ceremony, he had the cheek to say that the Games show improved China ties. This is an inappropriate remark to make after Mayor Hsieh applied for the World Games, and succeeded at allowing them to take place in Kaohsiung, while China tried to sabotage Taiwan's effort.

The present mayor of Kaohsiung continued to make this the best show Taiwan has ever performed to the world. The best show Taiwan has ever performed to show its position as country and state different from all countries in the world, but yet welcoming the international community to join Taiwan in its quest for a place in today's international arena.

Meanwhile Mr. Ma has embarrassed himself online by recording his online speech in advance and lying about his knowledge about computers before his graduation in 1972. Mr. Ma has also taken the chance to restore former dictator Chiang Kai Shek's name to Taipei's memorial hall, while everyone else is celebrating Taiwan's sovereignty throughout the World Games. Mr. Ma ought to be ashamed of himself for taking this time to restore the CKS memorial.

Further examples of Mr. Ma's disinterest in Taiwan's sovereignty can be found in the news every day. The actions he takes would normally be called scandals abroad, but in Taiwan they are only sniffed at. For as long as Mr. Ma is President of Taiwan, it wil be a shame to Taiwan, and a shame to the world to see such a China puppet pretend to rule over Taiwan. He will never be left alone by those who support Taiwan's sovereignty, as he is supposed to be our leader, but is instead suppressing Taiwan's sovereignty.
